Sept. 2, 2011
The win was Tech's fourth in a row, marking the program's longest winning streak since early in the 2007 season where the Red Raiders won four-straight from Aug. 25 to Sept. 1.
The win was also Tech's fourth-straight in three sets, something the Red Raiders had not done since the first four matches of the 1999 season.
With the win, Tech matched its win total from the entire 2010 season.
The Red Raiders' 4-1 start to the season is the program's best record through five matches since the 2007 season. Tech lost its sixth match that year to SMU.
Amanda Dowdy is becoming a regular in the double-double category as the senior recorded her second of the day and 17th of her career with 13 kills and 13 digs. Dowdy has recorded a double-double in four of five matches so far this season.
Miara Cave has recorded at least a .400 hitting percentage in all five matches this season. Prior to the year, Cave had only hit .400 or better in four matches over two seasons.
Cave's six block assists were one shy of matching her career record. It marked her most blocks since recording seven against Iowa State on Nov. 25 of last year.
Tory Vaughan recorded double-digit digs for the fourth time this season. She trails only Dowdy on the team as she has 53 now on the year.
