Final Stats

Lubbock, Texas - Philister Sang and Kiley Lyons tallied double-doubles in the Red Raiders' 3-1 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs at the United Spirit Arena this evening. Tech's win streak now sits at six as the team is now 6-2 on the season.

The offense generated during the win over San Diego State carried over into the Georgia match for the Red Raiders. Tech came out firing in game one and defeated the Bulldogs, 30-22. The Red Raiders tried keep the momentum going but the Bulldogs were too much and Georgia took game two, 30-23. After falling behind early, the Red Raiders came back to take game three, 30-25, after Sang recorded three kills in-a-row. Tech secured the match with a 30-18 win in game four.

Sang had 25 kills and 12 digs while Lyons chipped in with 11 kills and 13 digs. Defensively, Desiree Batista notched nine digs and Jamye Pauley had five block assists.

The Red Raiders will play for the championship of the Red Raider Round Up on Sat., Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. when they face the Boise State Broncos.
