LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas A&M had 89 attacks and only four were errant as the Aggies beat Texas Tech, 3-0, in Big 12 Volleyball at the United Spirit Arena. The Aggies improve to 8-1, 1-0 on the season while the Red Raiders fall to 2-9, 0-2.

Sophomore outside hitter Amanda Dowdy led Tech with seven kills, but the net game of Texas A&M also forced her to commit seven errors. Mary Batis hit for a .565 efficiency (13 kills, 0 errors in 23 attempts) leading the Aggies who as a team only committed four miscues in the three-set affair. She also led all players with three block assists.

Defensively, Texas A&M's Tori Mellinger (libero) led all players with 15 digs, while senior outside hitter and setter (in the third set) Caroline Witte led Tech with seven.

Tech's blocking game, which is usually its strong suit, wasn't up to the task of putting balls back into the Aggies court and the Red Raider ended up out-played at the net, five to two.

The Red Raiders travel to Kansas State for a Wednesday evening match at 7 p.m. in Manhattan, Kan. on Sept. 23 before getting a Big 12 bye weekend.
