• The Red Raiders dropped to 20-14 all-time against Iowa State and 8-8 in matches played in Lubbock. The Cyclones have now won the last 10 matches.

• The loss snapped Texas Tech's 13-match winning streak, which was the school's longest run since beginning the 1996 season with a 15-0 record.

• Tech had not previously been swept in any match this season. The last time the Red Raiders suffered a 3-0 loss was against Nebraska on Nov. 6, 2010.

• The loss marked the fourth-straight season Tech had dropped its Big 12-opener. The Red Raiders are now 6-10 all-time in Big 12 openers.

• The Red Raiders trailed in kills for the first time all season. The Red Raiders had also led in hitting percentage in every match this season as well.

Amanda Dowdy's double-double marked her 12th of the season and 25th for her career. It was her seventh-straight double-double dating back to the Southeastern Louisiana match.

Breeann David posted a season-high nine digs in the match, one more than her previous high set against both TCU and Grambling State at the TCU Invitational.

Dravon Rangel came off the bench to add a team-high three blocks and a kill. She finished tied with Aubree Piper and Miara Cave in blocks as they also added three apiece.

Jojit Coronel spent his birthday on the Tech bench as the first-year assistant turned 40 Saturday.
