TEXAS TECH TEAM NOTES Texas Tech lost its 23rd consecutive match at the hands of Texas as the Red Raiders have not defeated the Longhorns since sweeping the series in 2000. The improved Texas to 73-9-2 all-time against Texas Tech and 33-2 when playing in Lubbock. The loss was Texas Tech's sixth-straight as the Red Raiders last win came on Sept. 14 in the Rice Invitational opener against Houston Baptist. With the loss, Texas Tech has still not defeated a ranked opponent since topping No. 20 Kansas State on Nov. 20, 2004. The Red Raiders have also not defeated a top 25 team since Oct. 5, 2002, in a 3-1 victory over No. 21 Missouri. Despite the loss, the Red Raiders held Texas to just a .260 hitting percentage, the Longhorns' lowest against Texas Tech since hitting .195 in a 3-1 victory on Oct. 25, 2006, in Lubbock. The Red Raiders lost only their second match this season when leading in digs as Texas Tech controlled a 44-40 advantage overall. Tech was 8-1 this year when leading in digs. Texas Tech's .116 hitting percentage was its highest in three Big 12 matches this year.
