• Texas Tech lost its 23rd consecutive match at the hands of Texas as the Red Raiders have not defeated the Longhorns since sweeping the series in 2000.
• The improved Texas to 73-9-2 all-time against Texas Tech and 33-2 when playing in Lubbock.
• The loss was Texas Tech's sixth-straight as the Red Raiders last win came on Sept. 14 in the Rice Invitational opener against Houston Baptist.
• With the loss, Texas Tech has still not defeated a ranked opponent since topping No. 20 Kansas State on Nov. 20, 2004. The Red Raiders have also not defeated a top 25 team since Oct. 5, 2002, in a 3-1 victory over No. 21 Missouri.
• Despite the loss, the Red Raiders held Texas to just a .260 hitting percentage, the Longhorns' lowest against Texas Tech since hitting .195 in a 3-1 victory on Oct. 25, 2006, in Lubbock.
• The Red Raiders lost only their second match this season when leading in digs as Texas Tech controlled a 44-40 advantage overall. Tech was 8-1 this year when leading in digs.
• Texas Tech's .116 hitting percentage was its highest in three Big 12 matches this year.
• Texas' 14 blocks matched the season high for a Texas Tech opponent this year as Kansas also totaled 14 last Saturday in the Big 12 opener.

Don Flora
• The loss dropped second-year head coach Don Flora to 295-83 as a collegiate head coach and a 26-24 record while at Texas Tech.
• The Red Raiders dropped to 1-18 under Flora against Big 12 opponents as well. Texas Tech is also 0-3 against Texas under Flora.
• The loss dropped Texas Tech to 8-9 under Flora when playing at the United Spirit Arena.
• The Red Raiders also fell to 14-11 in three-set matches under Flora as well.
• Texas Tech also fell to 0-6 under Flora against ranked opponents.

Breeann David
• David returned to the starting lineup for the first time since Sept. 7 when she was injured early in the first set against Towson. David played in her first full match since that date as well.
• Her 10 kills marked her fifth match this year where she has reached double digits.

Miara Cave
• Cave posted 12 kills from the right side to lead Texas Tech in the category for the fourth time in the last five matches.

Rachel Brummitt
• Brummitt led the Red Raiders in digs for the 17th time this year as the sophomore recorded 14 over three sets.
