Boulder, Colo. - Three Buffaloes players tallied double digit kills as Colorado handed Texas Tech its seventh-consecutive loss in Big 12 volleyball play, 25-23, 21-25, 25-19, 25-17. With the win Colorado improves to 6-11, 1-7 while Tech falls to 2-14, 0-7.

Senior defensive specialist Jenn Goehry recorded a season-high 17 digs to move past Chris Martin on Tech's all-time list with 1,157 in a career as the matches' most significant individual achievement.

Despite holding a 23-22 lead in set one, Tech could not hold serve and the Buffaloes rolled two points on kills by Becah Fogle and Rosie Steinhaus to close out the set with a win. Fogle, Steinhaus and Kerra Schroeder finshed the match with 11, 16 and 15 kills, respectively.

Then, Tech got great play by setter Karlyn Meyers and middle blocker Barbara Conceicao to even the match at a set a piece with a 25-21 win in the second set. (It was Tech's first set win in Big 12 play since last season's five-set match with Baylor on Nov. 19.)

In the third, the Red Raiders jumped out to an 18-17 lead but, following a timeout, Colorado finished the set on an 8-1 run to win, 25-19. In the final frame, Colorado jumped out to a lead and continued to build on it, winning 25-17, as the Red Raiders could not keep pace in any phase of the game to gain any momentum.

Meyers finished with eight kills (one error), 38 assists and a service ace, while Conceicao tallied 10 kills (five errors) and had an impressive 8-block assist night. Amanda Dowdy led Tech's attack with 16 kills, but the outside hitter had seven errors in 41 attempts. She also had nine digs, a pair of block solos and teamed with others for a block assist. Caroline Courtney added eight kills, a block solo and five block assists to the effort. Aleah Hayes added nine digs along the backcourt.

Tech returns home tomorrow to prepare to host the nation's No. 2-ranked squad in the unbeaten Texas Longhorns on Saturday, Oct. 17. The match begins at 6:30 p.m. at the United Spirit Arena. It is "Pink Night" as Texas Tech Volleyball highlights the important work of the Susan G. Komen foundation in the fight against breast cancer. All fans wearing pink will be admitted free of charge.
