LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech volleyball ran into a tough No. 15 Kansas State team who hit a .397 hitting percentage as a team beating the Red Raiders 25-18, 25-12, 25-17.

The Red Raiders (5-17, 0-10) kept the first set close having it tied at 11-11. Outside hitter Hayley Ball had an ace early and outside hitter Amanda Sbragia had a kill. Kansas State (17-3, 7-2) caught fire behind a .226 hitting percentage and won the set 25-18.

The second set was much like the first set. Tech tied it at 10-10 behind two kills from Sbragia, but the Wildcats pulled away again 12-0 run to win the second set 25-12.

Tech jumped out to an early lead in the third set 6-5 behind two kills from Ball. Kansas State jumped ahead in the final set behind a .478 hitting percentage winning the final set 25-17. "We need to play hard throughout entire sets and finish stronger, " head coach Nancy Todd said after the match.

Ball led the Red Raiders with seven kills and Sbragia finished with five kills. Setter Caroline Witte recorded 16 assists, two kills and three digs for the match.

Kansas State received 11 kills from Rita Liliom.

Tech heads home for a match Wed., Oct. 22nd against the Texas Longhorns at 7 p.m. at the United Spirit Arena.
