Red Raiders Fall in Straight Sets to Iowa State|

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball team was led by Hayley Ball's 11 kills but fell in straight sets to Iowa State (25-14, 25-23, 25-22).
Tech struggled in the first set only hitting .130 as a team. The Red Raiders jumped out to an early 2-0 lead behind a Ball kill, but Iowa State went on to hit .577 in the set and winning 25-14.
The second set was a tightly contested battle. Tech was up early 8-5 on two kills by outside hitter Amanda Sbragia. Iowa State was up 20-17 until the Red Raiders went on a 3-0 run sparked by kills from middle blockers Amanda Dowdy and Brandi Hood to tie the set at 20. The set wasn't decided until the Cyclones went on a 2-0 run to win 25-23.
Tech came out in the third set and jumped out to a 6-3 lead on three kills from Ball. Iowa State went on a run again to build its lead to 15-10. The Red Raiders chipped away and came within two points at 23-21, but couldn't keep the momentum going. Iowa State won the final set 25-22.
Ball finished the match with 11 kills for the Red Raiders and Hood recorded eight kills.
Victoria Henson led the Cyclones with 16 kills for the match.
The Red Raiders travel to Lawrence, Kan., for a match with the Kansas Jayhawks at 7 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 8th.
