LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball program will continue its spring slate Saturday with the first of two tournaments in the North Texas area as the Red Raiders will compete in the UT Arlington Tournament.

The Red Raiders will open the day against the host Mavericks at 9:30 a.m. followed a 10:30 a.m. match against Abilene Christian to close the morning session. Tech will also face North Texas at 1 p.m. and Big 12 rival Baylor at 3 p.m.

"The team is fired up to get another opportunity to compete at UT Arlington this weekend," Tech head coach Don Flora said. "We have continued to see some quality development in our defense and in our middle hitting. This weekend will give us an opportunity to go against quality teams and study our growth."

The tournament will feature two sets to 25 points and then an optional third set to 15 points. All matches will be played at the Maverick Activities Center on the UT Arlington campus.

Tech is coming off 4-0 victories over Midland College and Lubbock Christian University last Thursday at the United Spirit Arena. This is the second-to-last competition date for the Red Raiders this spring as Tech will travel back to the metroplex next weekend for the Lonestar College Showcase hosted at the Dallas Convention Center.
