No. 3 Nebraska defeats Texas Tech in volleyball

Cornhuskers finish with 16 blocks and defeat Texas Tech 15-4, 15-6, 15-11

LUBBOCK, Texas - No. 3 Nebraska used .287 hitting and 16 blocks to defeat Texas Tech Friday evening in Lubbocks Municipal Coliseum 15-4, 15-6, 15-11. Nebraska improves to 14-0 overall and 5-0 in the Big 12 Conference while Texas Tech drops to 12-4 overall and 2-3 in the Big 12. The Red Raiders will play No. 12 Colorado tomorrow at 4 p.m. in Lubbock Municipal Coliseum.

Nancy Meendering led Nebraska with 16 kills and a .314 hitting percentage. Megan Korver led the Cornhuskers with nine total blocks (four solo) and chipped in seven kills and Jaime Krondak finished with nine kills.

Texas Tech was led by Courtney Putnams nine kills. Sonia Moric finished with eight kills and Kristen Holmes and Lori Garber added six kills each. Holmes also chipped in a match-high 15 digs while Hilgers added 10.
