LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech and New Mexico have mutually agreed to cancel their Nov. 9 volleyball match scheduled at the United Spirit Arena, Red Raider head coach Don Flora announced Thursday.
The match was slated for a 5 p.m. first serve as part of a Friday doubleheader that also features the men's basketball season opener against Prairie View A&M. New Mexico will instead travel to Lubbock during the 2013 season.
"New Mexico approached us with what was best for their program and we agreed to move the match to the 2013 season," Flora said. "They had a special circumstance arise and we were willing to work with them. We look forward to facing the Lobos in 2013."
The match was scheduled to be Tech's final non-conference contest of the year. Instead, the Red Raiders will have a week off between their Nov. 7 home match with TCU and a Nov. 14 road contest at No. 8 Texas.
