LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior Kelly Johnson was named to the All-Big 12 Conference Honorable Mention team announced the league office. Tech's Johnson is making her fourth appearance on the All-Big 12 Conference team with a first team selection coming in 2002, followed by back-to-back honorable mention selections in 2003 and 2004, and was named the 2001 Newcomer of the Year.

Johnson wrapped-up the season by leading the Red Raiders to a 10-16 overall record, 6-14 Big 12. Johnson also helped Tech defeat then ranked No.20 Kansas State Wildcats in the two team's second meeting this year in Manhattan, Kan, with a team- and season-high 33 kills. Johnson's efforts during the match also earned the Red Raider her first Big 12 Player of the Week selection this season, and her fourth overall in her career.

The feat marks the first ranked team Tech has defeated since 2002, and the first time in school history the Red Raiders have claimed a victory in Manhattan against the Wildcats.

On the season, the senior finished second in conference with 379 kills and a 4.92 kills per-game average during league play. On the year, the senior finished with 454 kills and a 4.63 kills per-game average overall.

The senior finishes her career at Tech as Tech's all-time career kills and attempts leader with 1,924 kills and 5,142 attempts, respectively. Johnson also ranks 11th on Tech's all-time career digs list with 1,087, and sixth on Tech's all-time career aces list with 119.

Johnson's senior year mark of 454 kills places her fifth on Tech's single season kills records and third in attempts in a single season with 1,293. Johnson finishes the season second on the team in digs and aces with 182 digs and 23 aces, respectively.
