Red Raiders Travel to Waco to Face Baylor

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball team will travel to Waco, Texas Wednesday to face Baylor in a Big 12 Conference matchup at the Ferrell Center at 7:30 p.m. CT.

Texas Tech enters the match with a 3-3 Big 12 Conference and 16-4 overall record. The Red Raiders have lost three of their last four matches after winning a match against Kansas and losing at Kansas State.

Baylor (3-3 Big 12, 13-7) enters the match after splitting its last two matches against Kansas (won 3-0) and Kansas State (lost 3-0). The Bears are led by Elisha Polk who leads the conference in with 361 kills and is hitting .252. Other key contributors for Baylor include Kia Young (184 kills) and setter Jennifer Harris (697 assists).

"Baylor is another team that has improved a lot in the Big 12," Texas Tech head coach Jeff Nelson said. "It's always tough to go down there and get a win but we need a win. We can't afford to go down there and lose right now. They have one player in particular- Elisha Polk. She's leading the conference right now in hitting and kills per game and she's really doing a good job."

Tech returns home on Saturday against Oklahoma at Coronado High School at 7:00 p.m.
