Deedee Brown-Campbell joined Texas Tech Athletics in August of 2021 as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Academic Excellence before transitioning to the permanent role of Senior Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) in 2023.
Â
Brown-Campbell was appointed the interim Senior Woman Administrator in March of 2023, before moving into the SWA role permanently that June. Brown-Campbell oversees Texas Tech's Title IX oversight as well as academic services, the J.T. and Margaret Talkington student-athlete development office and all Red Raider Way programming. She is also the sport supervisor for both the women’s basketball and softball programs.
Since her arrival, Brown-Campbell has led all academic support for the university's more than 375 student-athletes and the NCAA eligibility process. Texas Tech has continually reset the academic standard during that time frame, snapping the school records for cumulative and term GPAs multiple times.
Â
Brown-Campbell arrived at Texas Tech following 10-plus years at Big 12 counterpart Baylor where she most recently served as Associate Athletics Director for Academic Services. She joined the Baylor staff from her alma mater, Arkansas, where she worked in academic support from 2004-10, which included a stretch as the Assistant Athletics Director for women's academic support prior to the combination of the men's and women's athletics departments into one unit in 2008.
Brown-Campbell was a standout track and field athlete for the Razorbacks, garnering All-America honors in the outdoor heptathlon twice during her career (2000, 2002) while claiming three SEC individual titles. Her efforts on the track earned her an induction in the Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor in 2015 as well as the state of Arkansas Track and Field Hall of Fame that same year.
Â
Brown-Campbell and her husband, Marcus, are parents to two children, a son, Chase, and a daughter, Camdyn. Chase Campbell joined the Red Raider football program as a freshman wide receiver in January 2026. Â
