"We are excited to have Liz join our staff. Â Liz's experience in the Big 12 and as a professional basketball player will serve our program well," Donohoe said. "Having coached Liz, I know the quality of person we are adding to our staff and what an asset she will be. Â I look forward to working with her and having her as a part of the Lady Raider program."
Donohoe, a four-year letterwinner and starting forward from Oklahoma State, also played for Whitaker during her sophomore season when Whitaker was the Associate Head Coach for the Cowgirls.
Donohoe started in all 133 games played during her career, setting the school record for career starts and tying the program mark for games played. She also ranked sixth in school history when she finished with 1,688 career points. Donohoe also broke a 35-year-old single-season record with a free throw percentage of 91.1
During her collegiate career, Donohoe was a four-time All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection and was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year. In her breakout season, she was also named Freshman All-American Second Team by Full Court.
Donohoe was also tabbed as one of five candidates for the U.S. Basketball Writers Association's National Freshman of the Year award.
"I am very excited for the opportunity to learn and gain experience from the Lady Raider coaching staff," Donohoe said. "Having the privilege to not only play for Coach Whitaker, but to work under her gives me a great feeling about my future. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity."
Following her illustrious career at Oklahoma State, Donohoe was selected to play professional basketball for the Jamtland basketball team in Sweden. While there, she also earned the opportunity to coach all different age groups in Sweden.
